Show or Performance Puppy
This contract is made between Kat Ferruzza of Imagine Border Collies (Seller)
and ________________________________ (Buyer) on ___________ (date).
Imagine Border Collies has sold the Buyer the Border Collie described below. Buyer agrees to pay Seller the total sum of $_____________________. Payment shall be made in cash, certified funds, or other form acceptable to Seller on or before the date of delivery of the puppy.

This puppy is sold under the following terms and agreements:
1) Seller hereby guarantees that said dog will be free of the following: hip & elbow dysplasia, hereditary
eye disease, undershot or extreme overshot bite, deafness, undescended testicles (males). If the animal
is found, by a qualified veterinarian, to have any of the above problems by 2 years of age, Buyer will have
the choice of the following options:
A) Buyer may keep the dog and have it spayed or neutered. Seller will refund half of the
purchase price when spay/neuter is confirmed by a veterinarian.
B) Buyer may return the dog to Seller. Buyer will receive a replacement pup from the next
litter bred. The replacement must be agreeable to both parties.
2) The dog has had its eyes examined before 7 weeks of age by a certified ophthalmologist and are certified clear of the genetic diseases CEA and PRA. Dog has had a BAER test before 7 weeks of age
and is clear of deafness. Appropriate clearance forms (if available) are attached.
3) Seller hereby agrees and guarantees that said dog is in good health and free of any illness or
disease for a period of 72 hours after purchase or shipping date. If said dog should require
veterinary attendance in this period for illness or disease, Seller agrees to pay all reasonable
veterinary expenses upon receipt of an itemized statement from the attending veterinarian.
Receipt must be accompanied by a statement from said veterinarian that the disease was
contracted prior to the 72-hour period. This guarantee DOES NOT extend to payment for
veterinary attendance due to negligence, mistreatment, or accident, or for regular veterinary
examination or shots.
4) Buyer agrees to properly care for the dog for the lifetime of the dog, including but not limited to
A) Feeding a quality, name-brand food (no store-brands or generics).
B) Regular veterinary care including vaccinations, heartworm screening, and dental care.
1) A record of all current vaccinations and worming is attached.
C) Keeping the dog free of internal and external parasites, including intestinal worms, fleas, ticks, and heartworms.
5) Buyer will make payment in full at the time of puppy pickup. In the event of shipping of a puppy,
Buyer must pay in full before puppy is shipped. Shipping expenses are the responsibility of the Buyer.
6) Seller will forward to Buyer registration papers when received from the American Kennel Club providing
payment in full has been received. Seller shall remain as co-owner of this dog.
7) Buyer agrees that said dog will not be destroyed, sold, given away, transferred, leased,
bequeathed, or donated to any other person or organization under any circumstances without written
8) In the event that said dog is returned to Seller, Buyer agrees to return all registration papers.
9) Buyer agrees to have hips & elbows OFA x-rays performed at 24 months of age and forward results
10) If the dog is to be bred, Buyer understands that CEA, CL, and TNS DNA tests must be performed prior to breeding and results forwarded to Seller, unless dog is certified "Clear by Parentage".
11) Seller will remain as a co-owner until all required health tests are performed.
12) Buyer agrees to send Seller photos and annual updates of the dog’s progress and accomplishments
within two weeks of the anniversary of the dog's whelping date.
13) Buyer agrees to use “Imagine” or "Imagine's" as the first word in said dog’s AKC registered name.
14) This Contract contains the entire agreement of sale of the puppy between the parties and no oral
representation, warranty or covenant exists. This Contract supersedes and nullifies any agreement (or
offer or counteroffer) as may have been given or entered into by the parties prior to the date of
acceptance hereof. No amendment, modification, variation and extension, supplementation, renewal,
termination, assignment, or any future representation, promise, or agreement in connection with the
subject matter of this Agreement shall be binding on the parties hereto unless made in writing and
signed by each party hereto.
NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, ARE MADE UNDER THIS CONRACT. IF SAID DOG IS BRED BEFORE TWO (2) YEARS OF AGE, OR BEFORE COMPLETING NECESSARY HEALTH CHECKS (OFA, DNA, & CERF), THIS CONTRACT IS NULL AND VOID AND SELLER HAS THE RIGHT TO REPOSSESS SAID DOG.
